When I was little, I'm talking like 6, my favorite snack was cinnamon toast. I would toast the bread, then spread with butter, then sprinkle cinnamon sugar (though my mom always stopped me before I put on too much).
I haven't had a hankering for this treat in like a decade, but after browsing "The Pioneer Woman" I came across a recipe for cinnamon toast that I just couldn't pass up....and eating this deliciousness took me back to the good old days.
Preheat oven to 350
1 stick softened butter (if you're lazy like me, pop it in the microwave for 15 seconds)
1/2 C Sugar
2 t cinnamon
2 t vanilla (secret ingredient)
-mix all this stuff in a bowl....yum.
-Lay slices of bread (any kind) on a foiled baking sheet. Spread the heart attack spread you just made on every square millimeter of the bread, you can pick, a lot or a little, (I think I erred on the medium side)
-Pop in the oven for about 9 minutes
-at the end turn your oven to broil, and SIT AND WATCH your bread toast, don't burn it!!
-Take it out, and eat it as soon as it isn't hot enough to scorch your tongue. Oh and remember milk.

I LOVE the pioneer woman! gosh i just adore you haha we love all the same things its kinda neato :) xoxo
One snack my kids love is what they call Sand Tarts. I make a batch of pie crust with oil from the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. I then roll, spread, or press with my fingers the pie crust onto a cookie sheet, spread softened butter over the whole surface, and sprinkle liberally with cinnamon/sugar. I then bake it for about 12 minutes at 350*.
